Bethel Building Access

Bethel’s Building Access Security

Bethel has implemented an electronic access control system for entry to our buildings. With this change physical keys, while still required to unlock certain internal doors, will no longer open external doors.

  • External door will require the use of digital, electronic access at the four primary entries to the building. These entries are:

    • The main entry (far right door)

    • The preschool entry (far right door)

    • The stairway entry (near the sanctuary)

    • The lower-level door (next to the elevator)

  • The doorbell entry is available at the main entry door during office hours.

What Options Will I Have for Accessing the Building?

The three options for digital access for external door access are:

  • Smartphones:  In this option you will be sent an email with a link to download and install the issued credentials on your smartphone.  With the credentials installed on your phone you will be able to wave/tap your phone at the entry scanner and obtain entry.  If you are familiar with ‘Tap’ payments from your phone the process will be similar.

    • COST:  There is no cost to Bethel for anyone using this approach.  Therefore, there will be no cost to you, the user.

    • We are encouraging everyone to use this approach.

  • FOBs:  These small, teardrop shaped tokens can be held on a keychain.  With the FOB you will be able to wave/tap the FOB at the entry scanner and obtain entry.

    • COST:  There is no cost to you for the initially issued credentials.  But there is a cost to Bethel to provide a FOB.  Therefore, if you require a FOB credential, while the initial issuance will be free, should a replacement be needed we will request a $5/device fee.

  • Smartcards:  Similar to a credit card, these cards can be carried in your wallet and, as with the other approaches you will be able to wave/tap the smartcard at the entry scanner and obtain entry.

    • COST:  As with a FOB, there is no cost to you for the initially issued credentials.  But there is a cost to Bethel to provide a Smartcard.  Therefore, if you require a Smartcard credential, while the initial issuance will be free, should a replacement be needed we will request a $5/device fee.

How do I Get the Electronic Credentials?

First, if you no longer need both External and Internal access to the building, you can return your physical key to the office where the return will be recorded.
