Bethel Blessings March 9 & 10

DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME IS THIS WEEKEND! REMEMBER TO SPRING FORWARD 1 HOUR.

CHRIST IN OUR HOME DEVOTIONALS: Free devotion books for April, May and June are available on the cabinet outside of the sanctuary.

LENTEN OFFERINGS: Our Lenten offerings for this year will go towards two outreach ministries: 1) The city-wide Feed My Starving Food Packing Event that Bethel will be hosting again this year in August. The meals packed go overseas to various countries in need, including Ukraine. 2) One Child Honduras child sponsorship and Child Hope Center projects. Bethel sponsors 50+ children and we also help to sponsor some critical infrastructure projects at the Child Hope Centers. Thank you for your generous donations. A basket will be placed up front during the season of Lent in the offering area. We will be accepting these donations at least through the weekend of April 7.

**On another note, we are also collecting seeing eyeglasses that we will be shipping to the One Child Hope Center in Cambodia. A collection basket will also be available for the glasses during this Lent and Easter season. All of us (working together) make a big difference!

UPDATE FROM LUTHERAN FAMILY SOCIAL SERVICES – REFUGEE MINISTRY: Last week LFS received 4 new families (2 from Syria and 2 from the Congo). This week LFS is receiving 1 family from Central African Republic and 1 from Nicaragua. Our next Refugee volunteer trainings will be on March 5 and March 19 from 6:00-8:00pm. They are actively recruiting volunteers. LFS has current needs which include: an adult bicycle, a volunteer to show a family how to navigate the bus system, errand runners that transport clients around town to shop or go to appointments, toiletries, etc.

EASTER CANDY DONATIONS NEEDED: Please drop off individually wrapped candy to the Youth office any time before Holy Week so the kids can hunt them on Easter Sunday, thank you.

** Also Volunteers are needed to stuff Easter eggs with candy. Please come on Saturday, March 30th at 9:00am to prepare for the Annual Children’s Easter Egg Hunt. Thank you.

EASTER PANCAKE BREAKFAST VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Youth, families and friends please come help fundraise and make breakfast to serve to our Bethel family on Sunday, March 31st.

SUNDAY SCHOOL FOR ALL AGES

CHILDREN’S SUNDAY SCHOOL (Ages 4 thru 5th grade): Come learn where you can experience God’s greatest gifts. We start at 10:30am in the Christ Center.

CONFIRMATION (All 7th thru 9th graders): Come join Pastor John in a faith building journey at 10:30am downstairs off the Christ Center. We will be meeting on April 7th & 21st.

BOWLING EVENT FOR ALL AGES: Sunday, March 10th at 11:00am at the King Pin Bowling Lanes on 3410 N. Academy. $5.00 per person, bring a friend!

YOUTH GROUP (Grade 6th – 12th): Saturday, March 23rd Movie Night in the Youth Room from 7:00pm-9:00pm and Sunday, March 24th at 11:00am come have Brunch at IHOP.

ADULT BIBLE CLASS: Located in the Faith Forum where Pastor Dan will be teaching the “Bethel Bible Series” at 10:30am.

STEPHEN MINISTRY: Stressed? Feeling Down? Need Encouragement? Stephen Ministers don’t just provide care for people experiencing a major crisis. They also provide care and support for people weighed down by the little things in life. If you could benefit from the care, support, and encouragement of a Stephen Minister, it’s free, it’s confidential and it will really make a difference in your life!

INTEREST GROUPS

BOOK CLUB:  We will be meeting once a month on the 3rd Thursday at 1:00pm in the Library. The book for March will be “Crocodile on the Sandbank” by Elizabeth Peters.

BUNCO: If you can roll dice and count, you can play! All are welcome.

COMFORT MAKERS: Bethel's quilting group meets on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Tuesday of each month from 9:00am – noon in the Christ Center.

CONNECTIONS GROUP: This group is targeted at singles and couples in their 50’s and 60’s. It is a fellowship and discussion group of mutual support, laughter, food, and fun.

GIRL SCOUTS: We meet every other Thursday at 6:00pm in the Youth Room.

DINING OUT GROUP:  We meet on the 4th (last) Monday of the month. For March, we will meet on the 25th at the Airplane Restaurant. The address is 1665 N Newport Rd, 80916.

MICROBREW CREW GROUP: This adult group meets monthly at a local microbrewery. The March meeting will be on Monday, the 11th at 6:00pm at Abby’s Irish Pub. The address is 9697 Prominent Pt., 80924.

PHOTOGRAPHY GROUP: This group is for folks interested in photography from the novice to experienced.

PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY: If you enjoy knitting or crocheting and are interested in creating Prayer Shawls or Lap Robes for those that are home bound this is the group for you. Yarn is available in the Narthex.

VARIETY DANCE: Variety Dance meets each Saturday afternoon in the Christ Center.

BIBLE STUDY GROUPS

Men’s Up & Adam Group: This men’s group meets at Bethel for Bible Study every Wednesday morning at 6:30am. 

Ruth Bible Study: We meet the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays from 9:30am - 11:00am in the Library. The Bible Study is by John MacArthur, “Philippians – Christ the Source of Joy and Strength”. We would love to have you join us.

WEST (Women Earnestly Seeking Truth):  We meet Wednesdays in the Library from 10:30am to noon. We are studying, “Spiritual Warfare, Disarming the Enemy Through the Power of God”.

WEB (Women Exploring the Bible):  We meet on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month from 9:00am to 11:00am in Bethel’s Library. We are discussing “Guidance and God’s Will, Trusting God to Lead” by Tom and Joan Stark.

Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) Evening Women’s Class: We meet at 6:00pm on Mondays, and we are studying the Gospel of John. The theme is “Making Jesus Known”.
