Bethel’s New Member Class will meet Dec. 3rd at 9:15 AM in Pastor John’s office and then on Saturday, Dec. 9th at 6:30 PM. The December 9th meeting is a spaghetti dinner at which leaders of the church share about Bethel’s various ministries. Joining weekend will be Dec. 16th-17th at the worship service you normally attend. Bethel Choir Christmas Cantata: The Bethel Choir will be performing this year’s Christmas cantata, “The Song Heard ‘Round the World,” on Saturday, December 9, at the 5:30pm service, and on Sunday, December 10, at the 8:00am service. Come join us as we sing of the birth of our Savior and celebrate the arrival of the Prince of Peace in music, drama, and dance.
Bethel’s Annual Christmas Bake Sale: December 9 & 10, 2017. We need BAKERS and BUYERS for the sale. Please consider baking something–breakfast breads (banana or pumpkin bread, etc.), muffins, regular bread or rolls, sweet rolls, cookies or cakes. Or you can make candy, jam or jellies. If you start early, your items can be frozen so it won’t be a rush when the time comes. The proceeds from the sale are used by the pastors for people in need. Kidtricity Sunday School Christmas Program! Join the Kidtricity Crew at the 10:30 AM service on Sunday, December 10th in the sanctuary for Bethel’s annual Children’s Christmas Program.
Little London Winds Christmas Concert: Get into the Christmas season spirit and join us for a fun and festive evening with the 40 member Little London Winds on Sunday, December 10 at 7:00 PM. This concert is free and open to the public, so invite your friends and neighbors!
New Show in the Bethel Art Gallery: On November 17th, we changed out the pictures in the Bethel Art Gallery. We hope you viewed and enjoyed the previous show that included work by Millie Farquhar, Johnny Farquhar, John Sigaty and Emma Carlson (granddaughter of Bonnie and Bill Carlson). Please take the opportunity to thank these artists for sharing their work with the Bethel community. Our new show will feature photographs and adult coloring by Inga Kelly, Erika Kelly and Judie Smith. I think you’ll enjoy them all. Beginner Dog Training Class: Attention dog owners, or hopeful dog owners! Bethel’s very own dog whisperer, Curt Libengood, is looking to offer another beginner dog training class and you are invited! The class will meet on Tuesdays from 6 to 7 PM, will cover basic commands, and run for about five weeks. There is no cost to attend! The only requirement is that your dog be current on all vaccinations and no retractable leashes. The start date for the class will depend on how many people are interested. THE COMFORT MAKERS: This group meets the 1st & 3rd Tuesday monthly at 9:00am in the Christ Center. Always welcome are quilters, assistants and anyone interested in joining us. The quilts are sent to Lutheran World Relief. Due to the overwhelming donations of materials, our closet is full and we ask that you donate to your local charity until further notice. Connections: Boomers and Beyond—This group is targeted to singles and couples in their 50’s and 60’s though is not exclusive. Be An Angel this Christmas…spread Christ’s love by picking up a Lutheran Family Services Foster Care and Refugee Children tag on the white Angel Tree in the church narthex. It will certainly bring a smile to a child’s face this holiday season. Purchased gifts are to remain UNWRAPPED with tag attached and placed underneath the tree. Prayer Shawl Ministry: Prayer shawls, lap robes and hats (preemie, children & adult) are knitted or crocheted and donated to the Bethel community and the Rocky Mt. Cancer Center through this wonderful Bethel ministry. Colored, textured & variegated yarn in clear bags are available in the narthex area for individuals who would like to help with this outreach ministry (Ongoing yarn donations greatly appreciated!) Sr. High Sunday Morning Class: We meet at 9:15am in the Sr. High classroom downstairs. Come join us as we study a series based on the movie: God’s Not Dead! Adult Sunday School—New Creations Bible Study: The New Creations Bible Study class has begun with the study of Romans; a Bible-based study with interactive discussion. Any are welcome to drop in as they can. This class will meet in the Library/Conference Room each Sunday at 9:15am.
Adult Sunday School—Faith Lessons from the Holy Land: Pastor John will lead this class. It is video-based and shot on location in Israel. Each class is a stand-alone lesson that incorporates teachings from the Holy Land with our own faith journey. The class will take us on a round trip to ancient times, places and customs, and back again. This lively, interactive journey is more than fascinating; it’s faith-inspiring and life-changing. We would love to have you join us each Sunday morning at 9:15am in the Faith Forum on the main floor just past the gathering space (donut area).

College & Young Adults Ultimate Frisbee (Nov. 24, 2-4pm): Come join us on this Black Friday afternoon at Cottonwood Creek park to play Ultimate Frisbee or just hang out with your college and young adult peers from Bethel Lutheran Church. We encourage you to bring a friend as well. This will be a great time to get to know one another, have fun, and get thinking on how we can meet regularly as a fellowship of believers. COLLEGE KIDS CORRESPONDENCE: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jer. 29:11) This is our ministry opportunity created to support our out-of-town college students. It’s a “card shower.” Each week a name and address of our Bethel college “Student of the Week” will be provided in the printed Bethel Blessings. Simply send these Bethel family members “best wishes” or “keep up the good work” words of encouragement, add a stamp and drop it in the mail. You can confirm if your student is on the college list by contacting Carol Vogeney.

L.I.F.E. (Living in Faith Everyday) Bible Study—This class is open to all women who would like to dig deeper into God’s Word, but who do not have time for a weekly study or are not able to meet during the day. Our current study is called “Character References”. In this series through the book of James, we will discover what character traits God needs from us to best display what it means to be an uncompromising follower of Christ. New Adult Home Bible Study—Attention all adults interested in a home Bible Study: Stephany Green & Julie Loera have started a study that meets the 1st & 3rd Thursday of each month from 6:30—8:00pm.
